The access ladder is an interesting ladder product that comes with 3/8" x 2 1/2" flat bar side rails with round rungs of a diameter of about ¾ inches. It has a diameter around of about 1 5/8" and a tall boarding rail of around 42". The Stand-off brackets are on a maximum of 72" centers. The access ladder is also equipped with a heavy duty flat bar cage with a Standard 18 inch wide rung on 12 inch centers.
It should be remembered that the Boarding rail suffix included to add boarding rail and the Safety cage suffix included to add safety cage could be easily removed or omitted if the customer is not interested in those accessories. Another noted feature of the access ladder is that the standard size could vary from 2 feet to 30 feet.

"Cages may be required on all access ladders of more than 20 feet to a maximum unbroken length of 30 feet.
Intermediate platforms of landings may be required at 30 foot intervals or fraction thereof, when overall height exceeds 30 feet.
When intermediate platforms are used adjacent ladder sections are to be off-set.
When exiting to the side at the top of the access ladder rungs will continue 4 feet above the platform.
When exiting to the front at the top of the access ladder, boarding rails shall extend 42 inches above the top rungs."
