Ladder rungs are the essence of a ladder. If the rungs are taken from a ladder, the ladder itself is completely useless. This is the reason why when purchasing a ladder, the ladder rungs need to be tested and considered a major player in the decision of what the user will buy.

As with any other part of a ladder, the rungs require periodic maintenance. When waxing the ladder to bring out its full benefits, equal diligence should be doled out to the ladder rungs.
