AS/ NZS 1892.5 - 1999 Portable ladders Part 5: Selection, safe use and care."
They also gave the following tips on using a ladder safely:
The ladders must be supported by a sound base.
It is not recommeneded to walk on a ladder under any circumstances.
The ladder slope should be set at a ratio of 4:1.
It is recommended that not more than one person should work on a ladder at a time.
It is not recommended to climb higher than the third rung from the top of the ladder.
